- I will be teaching the class on what makes an American film a Classic.
- The Students will learn the different elements of what makes a Classic American Film.
- Introduction (Ask the class if they know any films they consider a classic)
- Discuss brief history of American Films and show Poster.
- Interview Response
- Have anyone ask me questions if needed.
- I will try to fit some time to have anyone ask me a question, and I will try to answer their question as best as possible. That is the only way I can really check for someone's understanding.
- I will use a poster as a visual, so people who are visual learners can have something to look at at while I am talking. I am a visual learner, so I know this helps alot for me whille I am watching someone present.
1. What made my presentation stand out was that I presented on what would be significant to other poeple. I tried to present something new and something that other people would probably not know about.
2. One of the things that made it difficult for me to present was that I was limited on what I could say because of the time limit we had. Also what I was going to say, I could not use that information anymore. So it was difficult for me to choose what I should present, that i wouldn't need in the future.
Discussion Questions to Consider
- What was the most challenging to do in this first presentation and why?
- One of the things that made it difficult for me to present was that I was limited on what I could say because of the time limit we had. Also what I was going to say, I could not use that information anymore. So it was difficult for me to choose what I should present, that I wouldn't need in the future.
- What is the difference between the literal and interpretive in your presentation?
- The literal was just the facts itself, that had to be relevent to my topic/presentation. The Interpretive was trying to get my facts to be significant to the audience. In my case, I talked about the Production Code, or Hay's Code, and how films were banned if they showed anything that the Production Code that to be bad for the audience to see. I explained that because of that we have the MPAA, which is in charge of the rating system. Since the production code ended, the MPAA took over and decided to give films freedom but the MPAA has to rate the film.
- What will you take from this and apply to future presentations?
- I will try to be more interactive with the audience in future presentations, because I noticed that people were more interested in the presentation if they were doing interacting with the presenter and the class.
L- I took the facts from my research that were basically the early history of film and also the different time periods of film. I explained the different time periods and what was significant about them.
I- With the information that I had, i decided to go into detail with a specific topic. I explained the Production Code, that shaped the films during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Since I tried to make connections witht he audiences knowledge, I thought it would be perfect to talk about the Production Code, because this led to the MPAA, which is the rating system we have today. This would help explain were the rating system came from and why we have it today in films. I thought this would be something new that would be interesting to the class.
A- My goal for the end of the presentation, is to learn as much as I can about films. I want to understand film throught he actor's, director's, and producer's eyes. This will help me understand film in a bigger picture.
It looks like you are good to go.
ReplyDeleteJust a word of caution, please don’t call for questions. Asking for questions stops the clock and generally means that you’ve stopped presenting. Focus on what you want to say.
If you want to ask a few specific questions as a review of what you've said, that's OK.
See me if you have any specific questions.
