1. I would give myself a P+ for my presentation.
2. The one thing I am most proud of, was my students response for the activities. Many of the students were engaged and did what I asked of them. I felt like I was teaching them effectively because of their great responses!
3. I believed I had some great examples of what I was talking about. The students seemed to understand more when they were given specific examples. This helped them with the activities that I gave them.
4. "What is the most important element of a successful American Film?" My best answer is : Script/Writing.
5. I knew my answer was solid so I didn't experience anything major that would change it. I was pretty confident with my best answer because of my I-Search and Three Column Chart showed how important writing actually is. I never changed my mind that last month.
6. I think that having advisory meetings 2-3 months before the the 2 Hour week. I felt like we had little time for advisory meetings, and that made it a little more difficult for me.If I would have worked more closely with my teacher with a lot of time, I would have been more prepared and confident in my Senior Project. Another recommendation would not to rush or give students a lot of projects to do the last month. I felt like all the projects were rushed and that stressed me out a lot!!!
7. I think I deserve a solid P. I did what was asked for and I really worked hard this year. There are some things I could have done better with research but I pulled through in the end! I am proud of myself for pulling through and doing the best that I could

Service Learning
American Film- "What is the most important element of a successful American Film?"
L.I.A
L.I.A
- L- I have completed 63 hours of Service Learning. My Service Learning is in the ROP Video Class. In this class I worked on a Behind the Scenes project. I filmed all the film groups working on a production of Romeo and Juilet. With that footage, I uploaded everything on iMovie 9. I then started to edit the film. This project took me a couple of monthes. I did about 3 hours every Monday and Wednesday working on this Behind the Scenes Project.
- My teacher in ROP is Mr. Miller. He is located in Ms.Melogno's Class every Monday and Wednesday, from 2:30-5:30.
- I- The most important thing I have gained is experience in film making. I leanred how to work in groups while making a film. I know the process that it takes to make a film, and what is necessary in film production.
- A- This helped me with my Senior Project, because I got my best answer from Mr. Miller. He helped me anytime I had a question for him about films. He gave me the reason why my best answer was the most important element of a successful American Film.

2 Hour Rough Draft
EQ: What is the most important element of a successful American Film?
Theme: I will be setting up my classroom like a film set. (Materials from ROP Video)
Sponge Activity:
I will first off introduce myself and my Senior Project topic. Then I will be explaining my definiton of what success means. I then will explain what I will be teaching to the class.
Foundation:
For my foundation I will be explaining a little bit about the first successful films of the 20th Century. I think this will help the students understand more about how the successful films started and why they were successful!
Answer 1:
For my first answer I will be talking about the writing/script/story. Mostly why it is important and different ways to keep you script interesting. This is my best answer, but I want to talk about it first.
Activity 1:
I will be giving the class a part of a script. There will be groups and each group will have to try to figure put how to get their script interesting. I will have already taught this in my 10 minute talk about writing. They will have time to discuss, then I will ask for volunteers to present what they have.
Answer 2:
My second answer will directing. I will be talking about the qualities of a great director and the importance of a director. This is my second best answer.
Activity 2:
For this activity I will be asking the class (in groups) to finish a storyboard that I will be providning for them. They will finish it using different shots and being creative. This is what many directors do to get their vision out visually.
Answer 3:
For my third answer I will be talking about acting. I will be teaching the important qualities of a good actor and what aome actors do to get ready for their part. I will also be talking about the importance of having an actor in a successful film
Activity 3:
I will be showing clips of bad and good performance of an actor and I will ask the class to point out things they see that may be the reason why the actor did not do a good job in that scene.
*Best Answer
1st- My first would have to In the Dark: Premier of Moives by Barsam. This book was very helpful to me because it explained everything that is done in film in simple words. The book was easy to read and understand, and very clear. I thought this book was very helpful for my research.
2nd- My second is Understanding Movies by Paul Giannetti. This book basically helped me understand movies. What I liked about this book was that it gave me so many examples of films to look at for whatever the chapter was talking about. This book was given to me by one of my interviewers.
3rd- My third source would have to be my service learning. Mr Miller helped me alot when it came to answering any question I had for him. He always helped me with whatever I needed. Whenever I asked him him a question, he would answer it and give me a long explanation or examples for what he was talking about along with it. So I ended up with my information that I expected. That is why he was such an important source for me.
*Product
My product would have to be understanding film as an art form. I learned that films are not only for entertainment but it is also a type of art, that takes as much passion and dedication as other types of art. This is very important because many people in the film industry see films as an art and take it very seriously. I learned this from most of my research.
*Conclusion
I will baically wrap up everything in my conclusion. This includes recaping all my answers and why they are my best answers. I will talk about what I have taken from my Senior Porject and how I will apply it in my in my life.
Theme: I will be setting up my classroom like a film set. (Materials from ROP Video)
Sponge Activity:
- My acitivity will be movie trivia. I will ask some trivia questions and they will have to answer.
- I will have the trivia questions on my powerpoint.
- My acitivty will relate to my answer because the questions will be about movies, which is based off a story/script.
- There will be no materials need.

- My best answer would have to be the script. The script is important because it is the foundation of the whole film making process. You need to have a good story to make a good film. The script is the key to a successful film. With a good script any director could make a successful film out of that script.

Independent Study II
LIA
L- I, Gail Gradilla, affirm that I completed my independent componet which represents 30 hours of work.
I- I did 51 hours in total of working on films with groups in ROP. This includes helping people setup or do
errands for the film groups. I also did filming on my own.
A- This helped my independent task, because I have observed group's projects and know some of the faults that happen on their project. I want to know what element is most important in a susccessful film, and by seeing how a film is made, I can see what are the important things need to be done. For example, if I wanted to know how important it is to have a director, I would see how the directors of each group does and if their way of directing is useful and effective.
I did my independent study every Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-5:30.
