Theme: I will be setting up my classroom like a film set. (Materials from ROP Video)
Sponge Activity:
- My acitivity will be movie trivia. I will ask some trivia questions and they will have to answer.
- I will have the trivia questions on my powerpoint.
- My acitivty will relate to my answer because the questions will be about movies, which is based off a story/script.
- There will be no materials need.
I will first off introduce myself and my Senior Project topic. Then I will be explaining my definiton of what success means. I then will explain what I will be teaching to the class.
Foundation:
For my foundation I will be explaining a little bit about the first successful films of the 20th Century. I think this will help the students understand more about how the successful films started and why they were successful!
Answer 1:
For my first answer I will be talking about the writing/script/story. Mostly why it is important and different ways to keep you script interesting. This is my best answer, but I want to talk about it first.
Activity 1:
I will be giving the class a part of a script. There will be groups and each group will have to try to figure put how to get their script interesting. I will have already taught this in my 10 minute talk about writing. They will have time to discuss, then I will ask for volunteers to present what they have.
Answer 2:
My second answer will directing. I will be talking about the qualities of a great director and the importance of a director. This is my second best answer.
Activity 2:
For this activity I will be asking the class (in groups) to finish a storyboard that I will be providning for them. They will finish it using different shots and being creative. This is what many directors do to get their vision out visually.
Answer 3:
For my third answer I will be talking about acting. I will be teaching the important qualities of a good actor and what aome actors do to get ready for their part. I will also be talking about the importance of having an actor in a successful film
Activity 3:
I will be showing clips of bad and good performance of an actor and I will ask the class to point out things they see that may be the reason why the actor did not do a good job in that scene.
*Best Answer
- My best answer would have to be the script. The script is important because it is the foundation of the whole film making process. You need to have a good story to make a good film. The script is the key to a successful film. With a good script any director could make a successful film out of that script.
1st- My first would have to In the Dark: Premier of Moives by Barsam. This book was very helpful to me because it explained everything that is done in film in simple words. The book was easy to read and understand, and very clear. I thought this book was very helpful for my research.
2nd- My second is Understanding Movies by Paul Giannetti. This book basically helped me understand movies. What I liked about this book was that it gave me so many examples of films to look at for whatever the chapter was talking about. This book was given to me by one of my interviewers.
3rd- My third source would have to be my service learning. Mr Miller helped me alot when it came to answering any question I had for him. He always helped me with whatever I needed. Whenever I asked him him a question, he would answer it and give me a long explanation or examples for what he was talking about along with it. So I ended up with my information that I expected. That is why he was such an important source for me.
*Product
My product would have to be understanding film as an art form. I learned that films are not only for entertainment but it is also a type of art, that takes as much passion and dedication as other types of art. This is very important because many people in the film industry see films as an art and take it very seriously. I learned this from most of my research.
*Conclusion
I will baically wrap up everything in my conclusion. This includes recaping all my answers and why they are my best answers. I will talk about what I have taken from my Senior Porject and how I will apply it in my in my life.
Nice sponge activity : )
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by elements of film? What do you define as a successful American film? Are the fist successful films of the 20th century indicative of successful films today? Or are successful films today different?
1. Remember to talk about specific elements of a good script so that students will have something to demonstrate.
2. So, the director often uses storyboards? Again, make sure to go over specific elements the director might address through the storyboard.
3. Again, make sure you have taught these qualities.
Good sources...explain Miller's qualifications.
What will your evidence for your product be?
